Hailing from New Delhi and a product of Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Ahmedabad, having studied there from 2007-2012, and having secured the Second Rank in the Indraprastha University entrance examination in 2007, Karmanye Thadani attended a summer course in international human rights law at Oxford University and at the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2012. He scored 100% marks in Science in his Class 10 Board examination and stood third in Delhi in the Junior Science Talent Search (JSTS) in 2004. He has worked in eminent public policy think-tanks such as the Centre for Civil Society (CCS) and has contributed articles to eminent journals as well as media portals such as The Times of India and Tehelka. A published author, he has authored/co-authored several acclaimed books such as ‘India and China: Negotiating Spaces in the Narratives’, ‘Onslaughts on Free Speech in India by Means of Unwarranted Film Bans’ and ‘Women and Sport in India and the World: Examining the History and Suggesting Policy Reforms’. He appeared on Times Now in the Youth Parliament on Foreign Policy alongside luminaries such as G Parthasarthy, Brahma Chellaney and Maroof Raza. His hobbies include reading, watching movies of diverse genres, listening to music and adventure sports.
